For decades, design has been chasing to reach vertical parity with other organizations: Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer, and now Chief Design Officer (CDO). Though the recognition of CDO is important, it may be a disservice to design if that's all we focus on. In this talk, David Hoang shares the state of "Design and (blank)," a look at leaders from a design background who are taking on more responsibilities. Whether it's Design + Marketing, Product, or Operations, join us in exploring the power of "Yes and" applied to organizations.
We'll cover topics such as:
Why scope across the organization is design's most crucial purview
How leaders with a design background can build the experience to take on other functions
Examples of companies who've applied this model
