Product people often underestimate the complexity of tasks and lack understanding of the problem at hand. While AI tools can accelerate work and aid in planning, it's important not to rely on them blindly. This presentation aims to shed light on how AI can support researchers and designers in planning better and mitigating risks. Attendees will understand how to mitigate the Planning Fallacy by acknowledging cognitive biases and inflated expectations of AI, and implementing strategies such as thorough planning, conducting research to understand the problem at hand and task complexity, and buffer allocation to address dependencies and uncertainty. The keynote will introduce the UX Research Pocket Calculator, a versatile tool developed internally to aid in task and effort planning that attendees can replicate and incorporate into their own workflows.
How AI, if used correctly, can facilitate our planning process.
How to strike a balance between leveraging AI tools for planning and maintaining human oversight.
What the UX Research Pocket Calculator is and how to apply it.
